The well known herbal medicine, the ginger formula is required to treat throat soars and infections of common cold. It is nothing but a medicine prepared from ginger, peppermint leaves and fennel. You can also get the mixture ready at home and use it as required.

A slice of ginger can help you to release gas and acidity formed due to indigestion. Clove oil has a great healing capacity to stop tooth aches and gum problems. Even the toothpastes claim to contain clove oil to protect your teeth.

Thus these are the petty things in your daily use and they are absolutely herbal whether you knew them or have been using them unknowingly for years. Can you deny them right now?

The facelift

It is not only that herbal medicine is being used widely but also herbs are being grown in almost every household. Thinking herbal has found a facelift through the gardening of herbs even in a small space like 4 by 6 feet.

Common herbs can be easily grown in the moderate fertile soil with a proper drainage system. Adequate sunlight might be an important criterion but there are plenty of herbs that can be grown indoors especially in the winter months. So how you want to plan your gardening – seasonal and annual is left to your choice.

Basils, chives, mint chervil, ginger, garlic, thyme etc can be grown round the year. Vegetables like cabbage, cauliflowers and turnips will be preferable in the winter months.

Looking beyond

Beyond the basic requirements herbs have proved to be great medicines for severe problems like anemia, hormonal imbalances in women, heart ailments and even skin cancer. Of course herbal formulas have not yet made out any refuge for AIDS treatment but to strengthen your immunity herbs have a gamut of remedies.
